I Feel On Top Of The World
Jean, Scotland
"I suffered from stress urinary incontinence for eighteen years. I'm a naturally active person, but the inability to do physical exercise without wetting myself turned me into a fuddy duddy. I was unable to dance, exercise or even play with my children.
Six years ago I underwent a procedure called GYNECARE TVT*, and I haven't looked back since. I had tried all the exercises to strengthen my pelvic floor muscles, but to no avail. I had the procedure, was in and out of hospital in the same day and it has completely changed my life.
The biggest change was getting used to leaving the house without having to carry a bag of sanitary towels. Now I can go dancing and play sport, I play squash with my son twice a week now, and I even climbed Mont Blanc.
I climbed a cliff face in Scotland and a famous mountaineer hitched me up on his shoulders for a photograph. This man had climbed Everest and stood on the top of the world, and thanks to a simple procedure I feel on top of the world too".
As with any surgical procedure, surgery for Stress Urinary Incontinence (SUI) may present risks. Individual patient results may vary and are not indicative of all outcomes. Patients should consult their physicians to find out if this procedure is appropriate for their condition.
